We had a wonderful time hosting our daughter’s 14th birthday party at the Ballentine-Spence house, before we even moved it! I think the girls enjoyed all the space.
I really like to use stations when we host an event. Stations help to create balance for where things are, how the event will flow, and helps us monitor refills or replacement of food and goodies.
The girls each received their own mason jar to use for drinks with their name on the straws. We also had a food table in our family living room, candy/dessert table in the dining room, sign-in guest table with shells instead of a guest book in the family living room, gift bag table for our guests to take home when they left in the library, and a fun drink station in the kitchen.
We were very lucky that the town of Fuquay-Varina was also hosting their annual Celebration of Arts event on Main Street on the same day, so our daughter and her guests were able to walk to the event that started 1/2 a block from our house! I have to admit, I LOVE living in the downtown area of this beautiful city!
