I can feel mother winter’s cool fingers tickling all around just aching to really lay a beautiful cover of white for all of us to wonder
and gaze at. We still have a few beautiful clear blue and sunny days left to enjoy and relish.
As I gaze out of my office window I can hear people raking up leaves, see the sun shining down on our side porch and hear children calling to each other. What a beautiful and wonderful community we live in.
Our first Mistletoe Madness Holiday Market was a true success with twelve amazing and talented local artisans and crafters, Our event attracted more than 400 attendees.
I would like to thank everyone who helped to make this event fun and enjoyable for everyone including our family, friends, local shops, and community members. And specially my co-host Delores Davis, who had the brilliant idea to host a holiday market to begin with.
David Davis has graciously created this beautiful video to showcase some of the fun we had:
We enjoyed hosting the November Teen Mastermind group here at the Ballentine-Spence House for their fun scavenger hunt, baking challenge, and many fun team challenges.
Each month I put together ideas for fun activities and team challenges for the teens to enjoy, learn, and grow! These kids are going to be our leaders some day and I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to get to know them as the amazing and wonderful people they are.
The following work was completed on the property:
- Gordon Stephenson built and installed a beautiful new hand railing for our front steps.
- Sheer curtains were installed in the dining room and kitchen.
- Lace curtains were installed in both bathrooms.
- Almost all of the Christmas decorations and trees are up for the holiday events
- Several light fixtures have more efficient light bulbs installed
- 10 brand new smoke detectors have been installed
The following work is still in progress to be completed:
- Looking for a few rugs for the front parlor and entry area
- Exterior window coverings are being re-installed for winter
- Planting bushes in the side yard
- Priming and painting shed in backyard
- Sealing, priming, and painting tin roof
