My dear friend lost her son a few years ago and his fraternity at NCSU started “Break the Silence” 5K in his memory to raise awareness for suicide prevention and to benefit the NCSU Counseling Center. In its first four years, this project has raised over $20,000 for the Counseling Center.
The 5th Annual “Break the Silence” 5K will be held on the Centennial Campus at NCSU on Saturday, March 21st at 9:30 am, with check-in starting at 8:45 am.
It is an uplifting, fun-filled event for all who attend, from families pushing strollers to competitive runners to senior citizens who sit at the finish line to cheer those who participate.
