As our time at the Ballentine-Spence House draws to a close, we fondly look back over the past four years and enjoy the flow of memories as they come back to us.
Our first celebration at the Ballentine-Spence House was our daughter’s 14th birthday! What a beautiful and fun day it was as we moved into our new home and filled it with friends and family to celebrate our daughter’s beautiful life!
We enjoyed opening our home for two Holiday Home Tours during Christmas 2013 and 2014. The home tours were hosted by our local historical society in connection with our area museums.
We welcomed our entire community into our home for several very different Murder Mystery parties ranging from a Masquerade Ball to Murder at the Juice Joint to a 1920’s Speak Easy, to Movie Stars Murder, and to our very first murder mystery about James Bond – all in the joy of finding out who “had done it”!
Our back yard was filled with beautiful ladies during the Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club Fall Tea. We ooh’d and aww’d over all of their beautiful hats and the delicious treats, all in the honor of supporting local scholarships for our area high school students.
We enjoyed opening our home to two Mistletoe Madness Holiday Market’s where more than 800 people from all over the area visited Fuquay-Varina and our beautiful home.
In 2014 we hosted the Spence Family Reunion here at the Ballentine-Spence House. An event that welcomed back family members who had not been inside the home for more than 30 years. We will always treasure the memories made that day.
We would like to thank everyone who has helped to make us feel welcome here in Fuquay-Varina and we wish the new family who will be making the Ballentine-Spence House their new home the very best!
